Andria Shook is a Research Associate in the Center for Education Policy and Law. Her academic background includes a bachelors degree in international relations from the University of Southern California, masters of education from Loyola Marymount University and a PhD in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego’s School of and Education Sciences. Dr. Shook’s dissertation work focused on the influence of health and wellness education at schools serving low-income students. Currently, Dr. Shook is located in Houston, TX where she is leading health and wellness research throughout the Houston Independent School District. Dr. Shook’s central area of study is education policy reform predominantly focused on the role of health and wellness instruction in public education. Prior to beginning her doctoral studies she was an elementary teacher in central Los Angeles as a Teach for America corps member.
